Parham at his very best. His rascially wit leads from snickers to all out belly laughs as he slings his poisoned darts of dry humor at the looney tunes inhabiting our world. Truly a great read from one of the best satirests around today.
As a long time fan of Barry Parham I have long anticipated Chariots of Ire, and was not disappointed. I enjoyed every page of this new book and continue to enjoy Mr. Parham's special brand of humor. I highly recommend this book to one and all.

Barry is absolutely hilarious! It takes a lot to make me laugh out loud, but he managed to get me to laugh out loud several times in this book (I got several strange looks from my family). His humor spans the generations. My husband and I have read several of his books and follow him on facebook, and he never fails to bring a smile to our faces. I highly recommend Mr.Parham's books if you are looking for humor and satire at its finest. They make great presents, too!
Barry's latest collection of satire and humor doesn't disappoint. His take on things like the as seen on TV ads for for stuff you will never use, but have to have when you listen to the hype and the enticement to buy now and get another one Free ,,, well how can you resist?, will have you laughing out loud and wondering how you were so stupid to get sucked in. Thinking about a new car ? Let Barry tell you how it really is. He looks at everyday things and occurrences with a twist you never thought of. He will make you laugh. He will make you think. He will make you want to read more of his view of this crazy world and the people in it. I've read a number of his books and he just keeps getting better.
Reading Parhams last novel is like reading a far more hilarious version of my own journal. He gives his view on current events and headlines, either making you wonder 'why didn't I think of that?' or 'so I wasn't the only one who thought that!'. You have to read every inch of it, because you might miss a one-liner that will have you rolling.
Some laugh-out-loud moments and lots of chuckles! Smooth, understated satire punctuated with unabashed rants. A unique and engaging flavor of observational humor.
